Mauritius sets its own requirements for bringing in dogs and cats. From any departure country your pet needs import permit, microchip, rabies vaccination, rabies antibody titre test, additional vaccination, veterinary health certificate and parasite treatment.
The titre test sets the pace: blood is drawn no earlier than 28 days after the vaccination, and entry is allowed no earlier than 90 days after the draw. Quarantine on arrival is mandatory — 5 days; documents do not waive it. Order matters more than the list: the microchip goes in before the rabies vaccination, or the vaccination does not count.

Rabies antibody titre test+
Rabies antibody test (FAVN or RFFIT) of at least 0.5 IU/ml: blood drawn no earlier than 12 and no later than 3 months before shipment. The lab report is in English with the microchip number; the lab also sends a copy to Mauritius's veterinary service.

Import permit from Mauritius's veterinary service before departure (at least 3 months ahead). With the application: a motivation letter, a copy of the vaccination record, a sterilisation certificate (except breeding animals), a copy of the owner's passport. Fees: Rs 500 per animal and Rs 500 veterinary clearance.
