Luxair carries dogs and cats in the cabin up to 8 kg and in the hold up to 50 kg. The service is paid: 70 EUR per flight. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 72 h before departure.
Some countries take no animals at all: United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Senegal. Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold. Direct flights reach 29 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

The carrier keeps two lists, pointing in opposite directions. Flat, short or snub-nosed animals are not accepted in the hold at all — 'Luxair will not accept any snub-nosed pet in the hold'; the cabin stays open to them within the general 8 kg limit. The list is non-exhaustive: Affenpinscher, American Bully, Pit Bulls, American Staffordshire, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bulldogs of all types, Cavalier King Charles, Chow Chow, Shih-Tzu, English Toy Spaniel, Prince Charles Spaniel, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Mastiffs of all types, Pekingese, Shar-Pei, Pugs of all types, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tibetan, Chihuahua; cats — Burmese, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayan, Persian, Scottish Fold. Separately, breeds classified as fighting or dangerous are carried ONLY in the hold and only in a special crate with no plastic parts and a reinforced opening of welded mesh, metal or reinforced wood: American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bull Terrier (the carrier does NOT classify Miniature Bull Terriers as fighting dogs), American Bulldog, Dogo Argentino, Karabash (Kangal, Anatolian Shepherd Dog), Caucasian Ovcharka, Rottweiler, Mastiffs, Tosas, Fila Brasileiro. Some breeds appear on both lists — the carrier says so itself ('Some breeds may not be accepted in cabin as those are classified as fighting dogs'); for them the more specific rule applies, that is the hold in a reinforced crate.
Snub-nosed pets are not accepted in the hold during the hot season; the carrier publishes no exact threshold.
Luxair flies direct to 29 countries according to the schedules. Flying there is not the same as taking a pet: the destination country has its own entry rules, and the carrier itself closes some routes to animals.
