Australia sets its own requirements for bringing in dogs and cats. There is no single set for everyone: what exactly is needed — microchip, additional vaccination, rabies vaccination, parasite treatment, rabies antibody titre test, veterinary health certificate, import declaration and import permit — depends entirely on the country you fly from.

The titre test sets the pace: blood is drawn no earlier than 21 days after the vaccination, and entry is allowed no earlier than 180 days after the draw. Quarantine on arrival is mandatory — 10 days; documents do not waive it. From some countries direct import is not allowed at all — check yours before buying a ticket. Pets may not enter through just any airport: there is only one designated point. Order matters more than the list: the microchip goes in before the rabies vaccination, or the vaccination does not count. 24 carriers in our directory fly direct to Australia, and their pet conditions differ.
