Air Canada carries dogs and cats in the cabin and in the hold up to 45 kg. The service is paid: 50 CAD per flight. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 48 h before departure.
Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold. A heat limit applies: above 29.5 °C animals are not accepted in the hold. Direct flights reach 56 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

SNUB-NOSED (brachycephalic) dogs and cats are not accepted in the baggage compartment: they tolerate heat and stress less well, with a higher risk of heat stroke and breathing problems.
"STRONG DOGS" is NOT a ban but a crate requirement. The carrier classes here the Caucasian Ovcharka, the Karabash (Kangal, Anatolian Shepherd), pit-bulls of all breeds (American Pit-bull, American Bully, American Staffordshire Terrier, British Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier), mastiffs of all breeds (American, Argentine/Dogo Argentino, Bandog, Brazilian/Fila Brasileiro, English, French/Dogue de Bordeaux, Italian/Cane Corso, Neapolitan, Presa Canario), the Rottweiler, wolf-dog hybrids and English Bull Terriers, and their crossbreeds. In the baggage compartment they travel in a SPECIAL REINFORCED crate: welded or wire mesh, metal, wood or a synthetic material other than plastic; the door of wire mesh, metal or wood, with a lock that cannot be opened accidentally. The requirement does not apply to puppies between 3 and 6 months old. The carrier reserves the right to refuse any animal that behaves aggressively or destroys its cage. The carrier says nothing separately about the cabin for these breeds.
Because not all our aircraft are equipped with temperature controlled and ventilated baggage compartments, it may not always be possible to accommodate your pet when summer temperatures exceed 29.5°C (85°F).
Air Canada flies direct to 56 countries according to the schedules. Flying there is not the same as taking a pet: the destination country has its own entry rules, and the carrier itself closes some routes to animals.
