SWISS carries dogs and cats in the cabin up to 8 kg and in the hold. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 48 h before departure.
Some countries take no animals at all: United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Ireland and South Africa. Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold. Direct flights reach 48 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

SNUB-NOSED (brachycephalic) dogs and cats are NOT accepted in the hold: they are particularly sensitive to temperature and stress, and the carrier states plainly that the hold puts their health at risk. They are accepted in the cabin on the general weight and carrier conditions. Pregnant animals are not accepted at all. The pet must be at least 12 weeks old.
In extreme weather conditions transport in the hold may be refused (Lufthansa Group).
SWISS flies direct to 48 countries according to the schedules. Flying there is not the same as taking a pet: the destination country has its own entry rules, and the carrier itself closes some routes to animals.
