TAP Air Portugal carries dogs and cats in the cabin up to 8 kg and in the hold up to 45 kg. The service is paid: 78 EUR per flight. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 24 h before departure.

Some countries take no animals at all: United Kingdom. Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold. A separate breed ban applies to 5 breeds. Direct flights reach 36 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

The price of carriage in the hold depends on four things at once: season, purchase channel, weight including the carrier, and route zone.
LOW SEASON, purchased through the Contact Center, up to 32 kg: EUR 78 within Portugal, EUR 118 within Europe, Morocco and Tunisia, EUR 227 intercontinental.
For 32–45 kg respectively EUR 128, 228 and 297.
At the airport and through travel agencies it is EUR 2–3 more.
In HIGH SEASON roughly EUR 10–20 is added to each: up to 32 kg that is 88, 128 and 247; for 32–45 kg, 138, 238 and 317.
High season for most destinations is summer, the Christmas holidays and late March; African destinations have their own periods, listed city by city on the carrier's page.
The fee can be paid in miles.
The service is non-refundable.
Outside Europe the price is converted from a fixed USD amount at the current rate (except Canada).
Pets are not carried to the United Kingdom in the cabin or the hold, on direct routes or with stopovers; only assistance dogs are allowed in the cabin.
Departing from London Gatwick, pets are accepted neither in the cabin nor in the hold.
Pets are also not accepted on TAP flights connecting within Brazil with GOL or Azul.
