Edelweiss Air carries dogs and cats in the cabin up to 8 kg and in the hold. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 96 h before departure.
Some countries take no animals at all: Ireland, Mauritius and United States. Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold. A heat limit applies: above 29.4 °C animals are not accepted in the hold. Direct flights reach 29 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

Snub-nosed (brachycephalic) dog and cat breeds are banned from the hold due to heightened sensitivity to temperature and stress (Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzu, Chow Chow, Staffordshire Bull Terrier; cats: Persian, Himalayan, Exotic Shorthair, Scottish Fold). Such breeds remain allowed in the cabin within the 8 kg limit. Edelweiss does not publish a separate list of banned ('fighting') breeds.
Pets may be refused in the hold when actual or forecast temperatures at any airport on the route exceed about 29.4°C (85°F) or fall below about 7.2°C (45°F); brachycephalic breeds are excluded from the hold year-round.
Edelweiss Air flies direct to 29 countries according to the schedules. Flying there is not the same as taking a pet: the destination country has its own entry rules, and the carrier itself closes some routes to animals.
