Vietnam Airlines carries dogs and cats in the cabin up to 6 kg and in the hold up to 32 kg. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 24 h before departure.
Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold and in the cabin. A separate breed ban applies to 35 breeds. Direct flights reach 24 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

The carrier publishes a separate document, 'List of domestic animals that are not allowed for transportation' (linked from the pet page): two columns — 'Snub/Pug-nosed Dog' (33 breeds) and 'Snub-nosed Cat' (4 breeds: Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan, Persian). The ban is not channel-specific: on the page the list appears among the scenarios in which a pet is not acceptable for transport at all. Beyond the snub-nosed breeds the list names fighting and large breeds — Akita, Rottweiler, Pit Bull, Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila, Staffordshires, Mastiff (all breeds), Chow Chow. The generic entry 'Spaniels' is not carried into the field: the carrier names four spaniels individually (Cavalier, English Toy, Tibetan, Japanese Chin), all four brachycephalic, and the column is headed 'Snub/Pug-nosed Dog'. The scope of the generic line does not follow from the document, and expanding it to all seventeen spaniels in the catalogue would be deciding on the carrier's behalf. Caveat: Air China names the English cocker spaniel outright in a list of the same nature, so the broad reading is not ruled out — worth confirming with the carrier.
