Sichuan Airlines (四川航空) carries dogs and cats in the hold up to 32 kg. The pet's place is booked in advance — at least 48 h before departure.

Snub-nosed breeds are not accepted in the hold and in the cabin. A separate breed ban applies to 47 breeds. Direct flights reach 28 countries, but flying there and taking a pet are different questions: the destination country has its own entry rules.

Cabin Not allowed

The official sichuanair.com page explicitly forbids ordinary (non-service) pets in the cabin: "旅客携带的活体动物必须托运。残疾旅客本人携带的辅助犬、导盲犬、导听犬除外" - "Passengers' live animals must be checked as baggage.
Exception: assistance/guide/hearing dogs accompanying a disabled passenger." The only cabin route is service/assistance-dog status for a disabled passenger: application required no later than 48h before departure, transported free, one dog per passenger.
A national list of 49 breeds classified as dangerous (China Ministry of Agriculture list, incl.
German Shepherd, Tibetan Mastiff, Dobermans, etc.) is barred from the cabin even as service dogs; psychiatric-support dogs are capped at 10kg.
This restriction applies to SERVICE dogs, not ordinary pets (which never fly in the cabin at all).
Separately, the site (affiche/718.html, notice dated 2024-07-22) describes a '宠物包机' (pet charter) program where pet dogs fly in-cabin in carriers on chartered flights; this is a distinct charter product, not standard scheduled service, so it is not reflected as cabin.allowed=true.

Carrier must meet IATA LAR: rigid plastic/fiberglass, ventilation on at least 3 sides, metal locks with >=1.6cm engagement, leak-proof absorbent-lined bottom, separate food/water containers.
Fees: domestic - standard excess-baggage weight rate; international - double the excess-baggage rate but charged per piece only (not weight/volume) - both are formulas, no fixed published amount (hence fee_estimate=null).
Pet must be brought to the airport for check-in no later than 120 minutes before departure.
Documents: domestic - animal quarantine certificate + vaccination proof; international - customs health/quarantine certificate, entry/transit country export-import permits, rabies vaccination and health declaration.

Unsuited to heat and altitude: Samoyed. Other fierce breeds from the national banned list: German Shepherd, Chongqing dog, Borzoi, Newfoundland, Cane Corso, Central Asian Shepherd, Great Dane, Brazilian Fila, Irish Wolfhound, Caucasian Shepherd, Kunming Wolfdog. The generic entries 'all terriers' and 'all spaniels' are not carried into the machine-readable field: expanding them on the carrier's behalf would ban hundreds of breeds on the strength of one word.
